. All about Sun God Suriya and his Son Saneeshwara

To Kashyaba muni and Dakshaprajapathi"s daughter was born
Vivasuvan ,the so called Sun God.Suriya then married the
 daughter  of Dweshtamuni.Her name was Sanjeekai.To them
three children were born Yamadharma,Manu and daughter Yamuna.
Yamadharma followed dharmas path,manu followed sacred path and
Yamuna became a famous River.
  
As SanjeeKai could not bear the heat of the Sun God she created a girl
like herself  named chaya and made her to serve her husband without
his knowledge. Then left for her Father"s hermit.

Suriya fell in love with Chaya and four children were born to them.
SarvarniManu and Bhathrai were three daughters and one son named Sani
.But Chaya started illtreating the children of Sanjeekai.So Yama dharma
reported to his father about this.Suriya called her and asked the reason.
She disclosled that she was chaya and not Sanjeekai.Suriya cursed her
 as she would become a shadow.

Meanwhile Sanjeekai as per her father took the form of a horse and made
 penance in the forest.Suriya also took the form of a horse and went there
 and brought back Sanjeekai.Then children were again born to
 Suriya and Sanjeekai,who were none other than Ashwini Devas,Deva Meditioners(Doctors).

Sani got angry with his father, Sun God for cursing his mother Chaya
.So he started doing penance to get the same honour as Suriya and
to give importance to Chaya devi his mother.

Many hurdles came on the way.But nothing could disturb him.Indra
doubted as sani was trying for his post,so he came in the form of a crow
 to pluck his eyes.Sani  was able to control the crow and made him his chariot.
Then Lord Siva appeared before him and gave him a boon that he would be
 called "Saneeshwaran" there after and would be the leader of all Grahas.
So even today he only has got " Eshwaran " title along with his name.
