Nandhi(a Bull vehicle of  Lord Siva)                                        Nandhikeshwara a bull is a primary vehicle  of Lord  Siva .Nandhi  is placed  facing the Lord  before we enter the main Shrine.Procession of the God is taken on Nandhi during  the festival time.
                               It was said that the sage Silada of Tiruvadikudi wanted to perform an Yagna for which he tested the soil at a particular place.As he smelt the soil ,,he could smell a pleasing  fragrance of ghee and others items used for yagna.He then dug further to his surprise found a golden coloured box.He took it out and found a infant boy there.He was extremely happy to get the child and took him home.                           
                                He was named as Jabeshwaranand was brought in the midst of vedic
parayana,relegious ritualsby great sages.The child also learned many things.He was named  as Nandhisan.Afterwords  he got the name Nandhikeshwarn from Lord Siva himself.As he attained youth  he was married to the daughter of Thirumazhalaipadi.the marriage took place in a grand scaleThe whole village of Thiruvadikudi  attended the wedding and blessed the couple.After serving  the Lord sincerely for years. He got a place in front of Lord Sivaand became the leader of ghanas. All the ghanas obeyed Nandhi.It is also said that the King of Lanka Ravana, got a curse from Nandhi,that his kingdom will be burnt by a monkey.That happened when Hanuman set fire to his tail and burnt Lanka on his way in search  of Sita Devi.
